Product Description
Tradition by Berndes is a line of cookware that combines superior craftsmanship with quality materials and new innovations. Made from vacuum cast aluminum as opposed to stamped, it features superior shape and thickness and is guaranteed never to warp. Three-layer nonstick interior and two-layer nonstick exterior surfaces protect foods from sticking and burning while eliminating the need for excess fats, oils, and cooking sprays, and they are guaranteed never to chip, crack, blister, bubble or peel. The 7-qt. Oven is indispensable for creating one-pot sumptuous meals like chili, braised chicken and beef stew and is large enough for families to go back for seconds, and maybe even leftovers. It has a heavy, cast aluminum bottom, excellent for slow cooking. With this oven you can crank up the heat at the beginning to make foods flavorful, crusty and brown and then lower the temperature to a simmer on the stovetop or in the oven. For self-basting, the domed-glass lid lets steam rise, condense and return to the foods. For maximum longevity, handwash-recommended. Made in Germany with a limited lifetime warranty. Berndes has been manufacturing quality products since 1921, functional and practical products that stand out from mass-produced items. With a complete range of product, popular classics, high-tech non-stick surfaces and continual innovations, Berndes leads the way and sets new standards on its way to becoming a global brand..

I have been an enthusiastic cook for 45 years and have a passion for kitchen gadgets, cookware, dishes, etc. I have owned several sets of pots over the years, each set nicer than the last. This pot was purchased because of the weight, the thick bottom and the material used in production to make it non-stick. It was also reduced on a special sale at a small kitchen shop in Shreveport, LA. It surprised me with waterless cooking! Very easy cleaning! Very even cooking! Set on low heat it is better than the slow cooker that I was contemplating purchasing! Even fresh okra did not stick! It is my first Berndes piece but won't be my last. I have used it to cook large quantities and even for very small quantities because I don't want to use any other pot! The fact that it is wide and the sides are low lends opportunities for easy frying which cannot easily be accomplished in any other 7 quart pot! At first I didn't like the idea of glass cover, but being able to see into the pot as food cooks...Read more

I have this pot and it is like butta. It cooks everything so nice and evenly. Cleans off without any effort-- if food is dried on, fill with hot water and way before it's cool, the food is off- no scrubbing, barely any need for a sponge. I highly recommend this product for everything from frying eggs/bacon to curries and soups, it does it all, with style. Mine is blue, so there must be other colors out there. . .

I bought this as a gift for my dad at least 5 years ago and he LOVES it! He uses it almost every day and every time I visit he makes a point of telling me it's the best piece of cookware he's ever owned. After much, much use it is still in great condition and cooks evenly, and bonus it can be placed in the dishwasher for cleaning! All around a great purchase.
