This was our very first purchase into enameled cast iron cookware. I did about 2 hours of research before settling on this. We had to replace our heavy non-stick fry pan anyway so this seemed like the logical choice. It's heavy, solidly built and the enamel is holding up well after a few months of wear. I will say though that the inside is not enameled as I thought it would be from the glossy picture. It's normal cast iron, but came pre-seasoned. The lip on the side oppose the handle makes moving the pan, especially while hot, much easier.

Lid is NOT included but that's not an issue for us since we have several laying around. If I had a gripe (which I don't) it would be that it didn't come with a customized lid to match the pour spouts on the side. You can't get a good seal in this pan but a standard 12 inch lid generally does the trick so long as you realize you need to add a little extra moisture since it will vent off during simmers due to lack of a good seal. Great product and much easier clean up than standard cast iron skillets. Wish it came with a lid though.
