Product Review

Marcigny, a small town nestling between the hills of Southern Burgundy, has been home to Emile Henry for the past 150 years. Faithful to its origins, the entire production is carried out here. Thanks to its clay, rich in refractory properties, Burgundy has remained a fertile area for potters, passing on their savoir-faire from generation to generation. Clay, a natural and noble material, has been used since the mists of the time to cook or preserve food. While respecting the traditional techniques, Emile Henry has introduced technological improvements (Ceradon ®) so that the dishes are more resistant to mechanical and thermal shock. Strong, durable, all Emile Henry pieces can be taken directly from the freezer to the hot oven, can go under a broiler and is microwave, freezer and dishwasher safe. The natural clay is unsurpassed for conducting and retaining heat. All pieces are perfect for everyday use and carry a 3 year warranty against defects.

Amazon.com Review

Ideal little dishes for sweet soufflés or savory tarts, these four ramekins from Emile Henry's Le Potier contain all the key properties of larger bakeware in their tidy forms. High-fired from premium lead-free Burgundy clay, the dishes distribute heat both gently and evenly throughout the contents. For added convenience, the design's shock- and temperature-resistance lets them go directly from the freezer to the oven. They are safe in the broiler, microwave, and dishwasher, and the glossy glaze should not chip, crack, scratch, or craze under typical use. Formed with a lightly ribbed exterior, each ramekin stands 1-3/4 inches high, measures 3-1/2 inches in diameter, and holds 6 ounces. The set comes in a variety of glazes and includes a three-year warranty against defects. --Emily Bedard

Anything that you put in these ramekins look just great. They are very easy to clean ever aver burned sugar on the glasing and are so durable that they just do not scratch.
