Product Description
This round French oven is known as "the everyday pot" for its multifaceted uses: baking, broiling, braising, sauteing or marinating. It's also "the everywhere pot" because it serves equally well on the stovetop, in the oven, on the table, or in the refrigerator or freezer. The 7 1/4 -quart size is large enough for 10 to 12 servings of beef bourguignon, stuffed peppers or your favorite chicken-and-rice casserole. The tight-fitting lid traps steam to self-baste foods. The mainstay of French chefs for nearly a century, Le Creuset cookware features bold and bright colors in a variety of shapes and sizes to suit any culinary need and home dcor. Each enameled cast iron cookware piece is skillfully finished by hand. Dishwasher-safe, but hand-washing is recommended. Made in France. 7 1/4 Quart capacity. 13 lbs. 11 1/2" Dia. x 7"H.

Summary: Great sized pot. 2009-12-08
Comment: This is a very useful pot for making stews for six or more people (or two with lots of leftovers.) Even with 3 lbs of meat and lots of veggies, the pot is just half to two thirds full. If you are filling your smaller dutch ovens up to the brim, then this is the size for you. Love the color.

Summary: Love Le Creuset! 2009-06-25
Comment: I love this pot! I can do any and everything in it-saute, boil, fry. It is very heavy, but can handle anything from stews, browning and long cooking beef short ribs to gumbo. Usually use crock pot for short ribs of beef, but they cooked just as tender and faster in this Le Creuset. This pot is good when cooking large quantities, or if you just like the pot and do not have smaller Le Creusets.

Summary: Absolutely Fabulous 2009-03-12
Comment: I have wanted a French oven for a long time and finally got a great deal on one. I just love cooking in it. It is great for throwing a meal together in minutes, stuffing it in the oven and forgetting it for a few hours, then presto, great food! It cooks evenly, cleans up fast and easy, and is so pretty I leave it out on top of the stove. This stuff is pricey, but worth every penny. I know it will last me a lifetime and I will pass it down in my family!!!

Summary: A pot for a lifetime 2008-09-23
Comment: The first one I purchased was on my daughter-in law's wish list for her birthday. She is a beautiful, young and phenomenal cook. Always believing that the cooking process is an ongoing learning and exploring procedure, I put a pot on my birthday list the following year. There are some things that just must be made in it...for instance...chili, meat or marinara sauce, pulled pork, soups. While the first purchase was the color Dune, mine was a beautiful red. I don't even have any red in my kitchen but this pot called out for red for me. All the colors are lovely.
