Comment: The price of the product was extremely reasonable, I recieved the product in a timely manner, and I am completely satisfied with my choice in product.

Comment: I bought this item for the sole purpose of deep frying. I used to have a 8" pot, although deep, it would barely fit two pieces of chicken side-by-side. This dutch oven is perfect, I can fit three pieces of chicken with enough room between them. The heavy lid creates pressure inside the pot, essentially deep fry and pressure cook at the same time, which cooks the meat next to the bone without burning the skin or drying out the chicken.

Comment: I have been in the market for a dutch over for some time and have considered many, mostly enamel coated. Of course, they cost more and I can't see any significant advantages to them - well there is the clean up and the non sticking! But since this dutch oven comes somewhat pre-seasoned, I've seen little sticking and I can already see improvements with use. Clean up without dish detergent is not as sterile but that goes with cast iron. I'm sure all that heat takes care of any leftover germs! I do like the flat skillet lid and thought it was great getting 2 for 1, a dutch oven and skillet, especially at the $30 price which is around 1/2 the price I've seen for the enamel coated ones. For me it was a great deal and I am enjoying cooking with it. Definitely worth the money. Thanks Lodge!

Comment: This product is great for the price. Wonderful versatility. It doesn't have a "traditional" handle on either pan but I don't use or feel the the need to have one. 5 quarts is more than enough and the pan is more than fine. I do use a traditional stainless steel lid for the skillet but use the skillet for a lid with the pot all the time. Cast iron is so great, this is the only pot and pan I use. One must learn to cook with these, its a little different but works better and easier in the long run and cleaning is so easy.

Comment:

This pot is perfect for cooking any number of dishes - from frying on the stove, baking in the oven or cooking on the barbecue. It is heavy, of the best quality and so good I'll have to designate its future recipent in my will.
