Mario Batali 9-Quart Oval, Chianti

I had to return this pot.
I bought it for my wife for Christmas. She planned to use it to make various things including home made baby and toddler food.
When I first looked at the reviews one person had mentioned that the enamel on the flavor spikes (under the lid) had chipped off... and not from abuse...
They included pictures, which showed missing chips of enamel.
I figured one bad review... must be a anomaly. That review was later removed.
We used the pot twice. The 2nd time, enamel 'fell' off of one spike and went into the food (a batch for my infant).
My wife was upset, because of the time, effort and expense of cooking something for several hours that she couldn't feed to the kids.
Amazon took back the pot and gave me a full refund after a few emails....
What I think happened is that there is a void or air pocket in the enamel on the tip of the spike(s).

Le Creuset 9-Quart Round French Oven, Red
I have asked for a nice big dutch oven for years at Christmas and birthdays, but no one ever took me serious, so I bought one for myself and I just love it. It's beautiful and I personally think it's the best gift I could have ever given to myself, because I love to cook lots and have people over and feed my neighbors leftovers. It's wonderful, but I did order red and got yellow.
