The lid is inverted into the pot in the packaging, but there was no protection from the inner rack, so my pot arrived in Australia with two areas on the outer lid scratched down to silver metal. Amazon has offered a refund if I return it, but will only subsidise return postage by $20, which will leave me about $25 out of pocket. I emailed Staub USA about the packaging problem, and haven't received a reply.
