Staub Coq Au Vin Cocotte

I absolutely love this pot! Not only is it beautiful it cooks evenly, browns food wonderfully and leaves a nice fond in the bottom of the pan. A bargain for the serious cook, or those that just want a superior pot for braising, roasting and stewing.

I admit it. I bought this pot because of the handle that looks like a chicken. It's going to see a lot of use alongside my well-seasoned 5-qt Lodge, which is also wonderful, but not suited to acidic ingredients.

It arrived securely packed by Amazon, without a scratch or chip.

I got this as a gift for my mom for mother's day because she's been wanting one for so long. She absolutely loves it. Uses it for everything from soups, to stews, to braising meat. She never understood the expense, but now that she has had a chance to use it, says she should have purchased this years ago - as it has replaced a few of her other pans. She appreciates the quality. The rooster on the lid is very handy to pick it up, better than a usual "button" handle.
